MFX releases a new product for the Oil & Gas Market - RTP

MFX is an offshore solutions provider for over 40 years and now is supplying to the onshore market the customizable Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP) solutions according to the clients' requirements. RTP is a technically and economically more attractive alternative to the traditional carbon steel and fiberglass pipes.

In this segment, MFX act as one of main worldwide suppliers of umbilicals. Umbilical is a submarine cable responsible for data transmission providing vital production signals, which is monitored in real time, both on platforms or floating units as well as on land. It’s an application for the exploration and production.

MFX is a Brazilian company, pioneering on Subsea Umbilical Manufacturing; present in the world market. MFX has been continuously investing in operational and technological improvements, including its current manufacturing plant in Aratu Bay (Salvador/Brazil). The facility has an annual capacity of more than 300 km.

MFX offers RTP for the transport of produced fluids (oil, gas and/or water) in replacement of carbon steel and fiberglass tubes for onshore and offshore applications. They are designed and manufactured in three layers: inner tube, armouring and outer layer. The inner tube is made of extruded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) providing resistance to chemical attack and erosion. The armoring consists of layers of galvanized steel wires applied over the inner tube, which is responsible for the internal pressure resistance. The outer cover is made of extruded HDPE to protect the tube against mechanical damage and UV rays.

MFX Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe is qualified according to the international standards API 17J and 15S requirements.

MFX products are shipped by land or sea in its own port through a modern logistics operation. MFX differentiates itself by the customization of accessories according to the requirements of each project. Furthermore both in project development and management, as well as in the terminations design and packaging for transport and delivery of the final project.

MFX’s Technical Assistance Team is qualified to install the Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes and their connections in field. Additionally provides training to users on product installation, maintenance and operation.
